Agriturismo l’Aquilone
Summer Camp
L’Aquilone is one of the most experienced Italian Kinderheims and has been organizing fun holidays for children and teenagers from all over the world since 1976.
In 2008, we opened a new, comfortable and functional location on a hill near Gubbio, at an altitude of approximately 600 meters. It’s ideal for stays immersed in the natural beauty of Umbria, which has retained its unspoiled charm.
The villa, an old farmhouse, is surrounded by woods, meadows, olive groves and farms. The small number of children and young people we host and our 50 years of experience allow us to passionately support our “eaglets” throughout the day and night, enjoying themselves with them.
Family rates start at €698 per week with full board.
Half board is also available.

Young guests, aged 5 to 13, enjoy a fun and relaxing holiday here, in the company of friends from all over Italy and the world. They are constantly supported and encouraged in a variety of activities—sports, art, all kinds of manual and expressive activities, team games, excursions, trekking, scout techniques, kites, theater, dance, musicals, and cooking—and are given the opportunity to pursue their own interests and curiosities.
The facility features a heated indoor pool: guests can swim there twice a week.
Upon request, it is also possible to attend external padel and tennis lessons. Adventure lovers can experience sleeping a night in a tent under the stars in our pine forest and using a telescope to observe the moon and planets.
For 50 years, we’ve been brightening the summers of children and young people eager to have a fun, educational, and international experience, deepening friendships with peers of different cultures and languages.
In fact, in addition to Italian boys and girls, we welcome numerous guests from all over the world who come to Italy not only for a fun holiday, but also to deepen and improve their knowledge of the Italian language and culture, both through accommodation and through specific courses.
For those who wish, English courses are organized with role-playing games and songs, so you can immediately practice with the foreign guests. The courses are taught by native-speaking teachers who, through games, help young guests familiarize themselves with the language, whether English or Italian, in a practical and fun way.
Optional trips are organized once a week to discover the areas around Aquilone (the Paper Museum in Fabriano, the Frasassi Caves, Lake Trasimeno, the Dinosaur Museum, the Perugina Chocolate Factory, and many others).
The children are surrounded by love and kindness, constantly monitored throughout the holiday by assistants and entertainers, both day and night. We take great care and attention when choosing our entertainers, many of whom have been working with us for some time (most of whom were once children at Aquilone).
Proven experience, expertise, and empathy with guests are prioritized. With them, your child will feel at ease, easily integrating into the group, and will enjoy a holiday filled with activities and games in a peaceful and loving environment where, in the company of many friends, they will not only have fun but also learn new things, gaining independence and autonomy.
The length of stay is optional; you can stay for one, two, three, four, or more weeks. For those who wish, following the motto “do it yourself to better understand”, it is possible to take part in the care of the farm and vegetable garden: collecting eggs, caring for small animals (chicks, ducklings, bunnies, lambs) by joining the “FRIENDS OF NATURE” group.
The food is healthy, carefully prepared, and plentiful. The menus, carefully designed and prepared for children, include four varied and balanced meals. We respect the tastes and special needs of our guests. We have been trained and participate in the Italian Celiac Association’s “Alimentazione Fuori Casa” program, and if your child requires a special diet, this will be strictly adhered to. Particular attention is paid to the choice of products, giving preference, where possible, to local raw materials.
The philosophy of Aquilone is to try to stimulate socialization and inventiveness. For this reason we advise against using cell phones.
The phone, if brought, will be kept in the office and used only during designated hours, from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning and from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, when the children are inside the facility and more easily reachable. Alternatively, during the same hours, they can be contacted on dedicated telephone numbers; the children themselves can use these numbers to call and, in turn, act as switchboard operators.
The fee includes: four varied and plentiful meals a day, accommodation in rooms with single or bunk beds, assistance, entertainment, laundry and cloakroom service, materials and equipment, and insurance.
A medical certificate certifying that the child is free of contagious diseases, a photocopy of vaccinations, and a photocopy of the health card are required.
